A perhaps minor quibble I have is that telling some they're 'too much' and trying the get-outta-jail free card of 'just joking' aren't, per se, gendered. I hear it all the time. I've been told I'm 'too much' and I've said it to others, male and female. I've certainly never felt the need to say it purely on the basis of someones gender. When they are too much they are too much. And, since I take nothing more seriously than humor, I rarely put up with 'it's just a joke,' a ridiculous sentiment I've heard from males and females, said to males and females indiscriminately.
