Django Unchained is not a classic. Nor is it, in fact, a good movie. A classic has to hold up, over years, and be more than pornography. To put that movie on a list that excludes Unforgiven might be unforgivable.

Any and all westerns that featured Jimmy Stewart are better than 'Django Unchained.' My favorite western? 'Destry Rides Again.' While 'the Searchers' might be seminal, and truly deserves a place on this list, 'Winchester '73' is definitional. 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence,' 'The man from Laramie.' 'Bend of the River,' 'Broken Arrow,' heck, even 'The Cheyenne Social Club' is better than 'Django.'

And 'Jeremiah Johnson' needs to be on the list.

The less said about 'young guns' the better.
