I I think Sen Warren also has a secret weapon: she’s made the transition from Republican to Democrat already. If you believe, as I do, that a lot of people who exist on the right are fundamentally decent people who are misguided and misinformed and essentially hostage to the Republican ethos (sic) then an example of escaping that conservative noosphere can be very potent. In her case the transition is very vivid: having started looking into bankruptcy law from a conservative ‘lazy people deserve what they get’ perspective only to realize how very wrong that perspective turned out to be…

Also, Trump didn’t come up with the ‘Pocahontas’ taunt. It originated in Mass during her first campaign for Senate. I think she should still address it: there’s some serious discussion that can be had. I don’t think it was a mistake on her part. I think she should use it, alongside her discussion of reparations, to drive an even deeper discussion on racism and sexism.
