I"m not a big fan of Nolan. Most of his movies just seem to be saying, 'look how clever I am...' to the point that if he has a choice between clever and meaningful, he'll go with clever each time. It's sometimes fun to ponder such things and they can be exciting the first go around... but I can think of only one Nolan film I want to watch more than once and that's 'The Dark Night' and it's not even the whole film, just the parts with Heath Ledger as the Joker: that role seemed to be thumbing it's nose at people who think they are clever.
Also, Kenneth Branagh played a Russion villain in 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit.'
