Breonna Taylors death is not like Emmet Tills death, though equally frustrating... Emmet Till was deliberately targetted and wantonly murdered in cold blood. Breonna Taylor died in a crossfire of complete and comprehensive incompetence and frightened trigger-happy idiot cops. Neither is acceptable, but the former can be directly addressed while the latter is elided...

Upon the entry of the police, Breonna Taylor's boyfriend fired one shot in warning, as was his complete right to do--if George Zimmerman has that right, Kenneth Walker does also-- and the police responded by firing THIRTY TWO rounds in SIXTY EIGHT seconds.

Emmet Till's murder was premeditated. That doesn't justify it... but premeditation can be be fought against. Breonna Taylors murder was purely reflexive: born of the same racism and animosity that killed Emmet Till, but allied to rank incompetence and, frankly, the lowest-common-intelligence monoculture of the modern day police force. That's SO much harder to fight...
