In this sense, Covid-19 is like a burglar who slips in your unlocked second-floor window and starts to ransack your house. Once inside, though, they don’t just take your stuff — they also throw open all your doors and windows so their accomplices can rush in and help pillage more efficiently.
This analogy is incomplete. True, as far as it goes, it leaves out the recruitment of your resources.
So, in addition to breaking in, ransacking, and opening up for others, it’s as though the burglars find your passwords and use your computer to drain your bank accounts, sell all your stocks, empty your retirement account, cancel your insurance and put your cars up for sale on craigslist…
… it’s a NASTY disease.
