Well, I don't want to argue with someone who's simultaneously a writer, ninja, sherpa and librarian... but, I do have empirical proof of medium curators humor.
On two separate occasions I wrote about unions and collective bargaining using, among other examples, pro sports players unions. I labelled them 'unions' 'politics' 'collective bargaining' and 'culture.'
They were curated in 'sports' alone.
You can't get that kinda humor just anywhere. I didn't even tag either of them in 'sports' but they went there anyways...
All seriousness aside, it's abundantly clear that there simply aren't enough curators and that the pre-sorting algorithm, which I assume both screens obvious junk and assigns pieces to individual curators is simply not that good. Unless it's just a curator grab-bag, which might be worse...
