When I hear, or read, someone decrying ‘Identity Politics,’ I hear someone who’s complaining that they can no longer impose an identity on someone else: White culture once dominated in every sense of the word, and something like the simple, true, statement that Black Lives Matter is a direct confrontation of that domination.
