"Why put yourself through excruciating thinking when you can simply avoid the problem."
Why ask a question without bothering to append a question mark... ?
Sometimes, it's not a problem, but it's still excruciating thinking. The point of mindfulness is not problem solving, but to see your self for who you are: Not who you want to be; Not who you fear you are; but simply for who you are. Then, to interrogate who you want to be, and why--which is an invitation to interrogate your values and moral imagination-- and to interrogate who you fear you are and why--which is a similar invitation to interrogate your fears and moral influences.
