Both sides are not using the same thought process because both sides are not using the same empirical data AND, in fact, one side is not using any discernible mode of empiricism, whatsoever.

It is an objective truth that Trump lies. This is also true for FOX News and for others politicians. Some people choose to accept the lies, either in immoral credulity or in amoral ruthlessness as political tool. Others choose to reject the lies. That's where the debate comes out.
